Glen Erin Golf Club Update
Opening Friday, April 24th
Frequently Asked Questions
(Please note that all of our procedures are in line with the Governor's Orders for golf course openings.)
What will the golf experience be like when I arrive at Glen Erin?
We ask that you arrive at Glen Erin no earlier than 15 minutes before your tee time. Please park in every other parking stall, if possible. Do not park next to anyone else unless you have to. You can then go directly to the starter on the first tee, who will verify your identity and verify your proof of payment you provide. You can then proceed to your tee and play?
What changes has Glen Erin made on the course?
There will be pins in the cups, but the cups will be “filled” with polyethylene foam so the ball will not fall in the cup. The foam will be red, so once you hit it, you have holed out. There are no rakes in the bunkers. Our staff will rake bunkers every AM. Garbage cans will be on every 4th or 5th hole, but there will be no ball washers or benches. The goal of the maintenance staff is to create a “no-touch” golf experience.
Are carts allowed?
Right now carts are not allowed. We hope that carts will be allowed soon. Single rider carts are currently allowed in many states.
Are pull carts available?
Unfortunately, we do not, and we are unable to acquire some in the current situation. If you have one, feel free to bring it. Otherwise maybe Target, Farm and Fleet or Walmart may carry them. Another option could be to purchase one on Amazon.
May I bring a caddy?
We understand no carts can be an issue. We are going to allow a caddy that you provide. The caddy MUST be someone from your home dwelling or family and must travel with the golfer in the same vehicle to and from the course. There is no charge.
Are the range and practice green open?
No. Per the order the driving range and practice green are closed.
Are bathrooms available?
The port-a-potties are not on the golf course. We ask everybody to use the bathroom before you come to Glen Erin. The East Door of the clubhouse will be open to allow access to the clubhouse bathrooms only. All other access to the clubhouse is prohibited. COVID 19 eliminating spray will be available at this entrance and you are more than welcome to bring hand sanitizer.
Are masks required?
The CDC recommends face coverings when in public. We recommend it as well but are not requiring it. Our staff will have face coverings at our point of contact on the first tee. You are welcome to bring sanitizer as well.
Are food and beverage service available?
Based on current orders, we cannot sell any food and beverage for carryout consumption on our property, whether inside or outside. We hope to get more guidance on this matter and will let you know if this changes.
May I bring my own food and beverage?
Small non-alcoholic carry on beverages are allowed. Snack-type food is fine as well such as bananas, granola bars and apples. Carry on alcohol is still not allowed per Wisconsin State Statute.
I have a pass, punch card or Group Golfer, how do I make a tee time or check-in?
If you have any sort of pre-pay round, make your tee time with our “Book a Tee Time” link on our website. Then email either rvega@gleneringolf.com or jbrown@gleneringolf.com and tell us your tee time, your last name and type of pass you have. Group Golfers, please also send us your Group Golfer certificate number in the top left of the certificate. Bring your pass for redemption at check-in.
I signed up for “Free Green Fee April”. Are you going to honor those?
The April Free Green Fee promotion had a $20 cart fee attached to it. Since carts are not available, we are now going to move that promotion to the fall. Anytime September 21st through the end of the 2020 golf season that certificate can be redeemed. We feel this gives all the people who have this certificate the opportunity to use it. We understand many of you who have this certificate do not want to leave your house during this time and this is the best way for everyone to enjoy this promotion.
I prepaid for my round. What if I can’t make it?
If you cancel MORE THAN 24 hours, you will receive either a full refund or credit for another round. Your choice. Cancellations WITHIN 24 hours will receive a credit for another round. No call / no shows will forfeit their green fee with no refund.
What is the rain check policy?
We have a 100% rain check policy. If it rains heavily or the course is closed during any part of your round, you will receive a full rain check valid for 12 months.
What if there is a severe storm or lightning?
Please take immediate shelter. Remember we are not allowed to open the clubhouse so if you are near the clubhouse you should head to your car. Email or call us for your rain check.
