"I'm very proud of Glen Erin. It has a simple beauty to it that resonates beyond golf-specific issues. This is a project that illustrates my commitment to fun, enjoyable golf for a reasonable expense."

— Greg Martin, golf course architect

Greg Martin — a golfer’s course designer — gave us an Irish dream in Glen Erin.

Every step of every round is like walking in golf history, thanks to designer by Greg Martin.

With more than 25 years’ experience in golf course architecture, Mr. Martin has worked on a wide range of projects, including renovation, remodeling and new construction for public, private, daily-fee and residential golf course communities, along with golf facility feasibility, site analysis, land planning and master improvement planning. This experience spans more than 100 projects in eight states and internationally.

“The golf industry has witnessed remarkable growth and transformation, but little has changed in the game itself. Golf is about golfers and the wondrous places we play – the simple interaction of man and nature with friends, family or competitors. Our goal is to make that interaction remarkable.”
— Greg Martin

Since 1987, Greg has devoted himself to golf course architecture, promoting a style based on the unique environmental qualities of each site, as well as the client specific needs.

“It is always my intention to use 18 holes as a tour of a property, using golf to explore the landscape that may otherwise be unnoticed or undiscovered.
Ultimately, golf shouldn’t be hard, but it should be challenging, engaging and beautiful.”

Greg has traveled to Ireland and Scotland, studying and playing many of the most revered and distinguished golf links. These courses, including Ballybunion, Old and New, The Old Course at St. Andrews, Prestwick, Western Gailes, and Turnberry were inspirational and contribute greatly to Greg’s understanding of golf’s history, origin and design philosophy.
